Normal class hours at Desert Academy run from 08:00–12:00, followed by lunch, and continue from 13:00–17:00. Each trainee will receive a detailed timetable outlining their sessions and activities.
During job attachments, working times will differ and are determined by the operation of the host enterprise. This means schedules are flexible and may vary depending on the nature of the placement.
It is important to note that horticulture is not limited to weekdays. The realities of farming and crop production often require work on any day of the week, including weekends, to meet the demands of planting, harvesting and caring for crops. Trainees must be prepared for this commitment as part of their professional training.
